How to Release a Copyright Claim on YouTube for Music Licensed from Epikton
Step 1: Locate your music license certificate email
Check your email for the music license certificate from Epikton. If you cannot find it, contact Epikton.
Step 2: Review the copyright claim
When you receive a copyright claim on your YouTube video, you should receive an email from YouTube with details about the claim. Make sure to review the claim and confirm that you have a valid music license that covers the use of the music in your video.
Step 3: Navigate to the YouTube copyright page
Once you have confirmed that you have a valid music license, navigate to the copyright page on YouTube. You can find the copyright page by clicking on your profile picture in the top right corner of the YouTube homepage, selecting “YouTube Studio,” and then clicking on “Copyright” in the left-hand menu.
Step 4: Select the video with the copyright claim
On the copyright page, you should see a list of videos that have received copyright claims. Select the video with the claim that you want to release.
Step 5: Click on “File a dispute”
On the page for the video with the copyright claim, click on “File a dispute.” You will be asked to select a reason for the dispute. Select “I have a license or written permission from the proper rights holder to use this material.”
Step 6: Upload a screenshot of your music license certificate
After selecting the reason for your dispute, you will be prompted to upload your music license. Take a screenshot of your music license certificate email from Epikton and upload the image file.
Step 7: Submit your dispute
Once you have uploaded your license, click on “Submit dispute” to submit your claim for review. It may take several days for YouTube to review your claim and release the copyright claim on your video.
Step 8: Follow up
If your dispute is successful and the copyright claim is released, you should receive an email from YouTube confirming that the claim has been released. If you do not receive a confirmation email within a few days, follow up with YouTube to check on the status of your claim.
